The Ortigia, or Old Town is full of sites to see like the Ortigia Cathedral which houses a number of relics of St. Lucy, the patron saint of Syracuse.
Pretty Xlendi Bay lies on the west coast of Gozo, an island long thought to be the mythical Ogygia of Homer's Odyssey. In the story, Calypso fell in love with Odysseus and held him captive for seven years.. The reputed Calypso Cave is just one of several intriguing caves on the island. There's also Caroline's Cave, a natural grotto that was once a private swimming hole for nuns. Surprisingly for such a small island, Gozo is home to the oldest freestanding temples in the world, the Ggantija Temples, nestled among the rolling green hills. You should also visit the Citadella, a small, fortified town that houses the island's Cathedral, the Museum of Archaeology, the Folklore Museum, and the Old Prisons.

You will depart via motor coach and drive to Hal-Qormi, to Razzett l-Antik [Old Farmhouse]. There you will participate in a cooking challenge where you will be assigned to one of six kitchenettes, provided with setup, ingredients, aprons, and supervised by their Chef. Everyone will be encouraged to participate in the cooking. A table with ingredients will be provided in the center of your workstation, and you and your team will be asked to prepare a particular dish, according to the ingredients provided. Points will be given on ingredients, teamwork and presentation of food. You will also be able to take part in a food tasting including local Maltese Mediterranean Antipasti platters. Your panoramic drive back to your yacht will go through Siggiewi and Zebbug with photo stops and short walking tours before you will arrive back at the quay for re-embarkation. Depart the quay and drive to The Silent City - Mdina , Malta's old Capital. Mdina is a medieval walled town situated on a hill in the center of the island. You will walk through the narrow streets of the town, visit St Paul's Cathedral , the Ramparts for a panoramic view, and Palazzo Falson , the best preserved palazzo of its period. Walk down any Maltese street in the town core, with its sheer limestone walls, studded doors and wooden 'gallarijas', and you will get few clues to what lies on the other side of these crumbling facades. After that, it went into decline, and became a salty old port. Then, it was selected to host the 2004 America's Cup and received a massive injection of cash - buildings were restored, streets in the historic center pedestrianized - giving the town and its people a new confidence. These days Trapani is a thoroughly pleasant place to hang out for a couple of days. You will join your guide for a pleasant walking visit of the historical center of Trapani, with its many churches and palazzos with their ornate façades and elaborate interior, perfect examples of the Baroque style. At the end of the guided visit, enjoy a typical Sicilian coffee break including one cannolo and one coffee or one cappuccino, followed by 45 minutes of free time. After a 45-minute coach drive to the cable station, you'll take the cable car up to the top of a mountain. Take in the view out over the Trapani Salt Pans , the turquoise sea and all the way to the Egadi Islands - it's breathtaking. While you're up here, you'll explore the medieval town that is Erice . Wander the winding cobbled streets, listen to your guide give an informational takl outside the the Mother Church that's stood there for over 700 years, and admire the Castle of Venus where the son of Athena, goddess of love, built a temple in his mother's honor. And save some sighs for the gorgeous Balio Gardens in all their rainbow bright glory. Last, but not least, you'll have time to enjoy the atmosphere in Erice's tiny plaza, before you take the cable car back down to your waiting ship. Lipari is the largest of the seven Aeolian Islands and is well known not only for its mythological connections, but most of all for its natural beauty. Arriving at Marina Corta , you will board your coach and proceed on a panoramic tour of the island. Two beaches, Marina Lunga and Marina Corta, frame the town of Lipari, which is encircled by 13th -14th century walls and dominated by a 16th century Norman castle. Nearby there is an impressive view of the bay. Between the islands of Lipari and Vulcano, in the Bocche di Vulcano, you will see picturesque rocks resembling Druidical stones, among them the Pietralunga , a basalt nearly 240 feet (72m) high. After a brief stop at Canneto Village , you will continue with your drive noting where the road is crossed by red and black veins of obsidian. Your guide will bring you to a local establishment to enjoy a delicious refreshment. The island of Vulcano, once called Hierò Thermessa is one of the most interesting in the Aeolian archipelago because of the exceptional nature of its landscapes and the variety of its landscapes and the variety of its volcanic phenomena. Dedicated to Vulcan, the Roman god of fire and metal working; Homer described the island as the workshop of Hephaestus, the Greek god of fire. Your tour will begin with a boat trip around the island with a breathtaking view of the Faraglioni ,Grotta del Cavallo, and Vulcanello . The only landing place is the Porto di Levante. Vulcano consists of three old craters. The first, in the south between Monte Aria and Monte Saraceno, has been extinct for centuries; the GranCratere , on the other hand, is still active, the last eruption occurring in 1890. Vulcanello, the third crater, is a promontory on the north eastern tip of the island created almost 2,000 years ago by an eruption. The climb up to the middle crater is particularly interesting and you can reach the top in less than an hour. Please note: The hike to the volcano is only recommended for fit people as a lot of uphill walking is involved. Wear walking shoes, bring a change of clothes and bottled water.

Lipari is the largest of the seven islands and its history is entirely concentrated around the narrow platform of the so-called Castello, a fine natural fortress formed by a rhyolitic socle, on the flat summit of which there has accumulated a further earth socle, carried by the wind. From your yacht you will tender to shore where you will have a 20-minute walk to the museum. You'll have the opportunity to visit the Archaeological Museum ( at your own expense ) or wander through the beautiful terrace for impressive photo opportunities. Its "decumani" (main streets) have an east-west orientation, while the "cardines" (narrower streets) run north-south. There is undeniably a "feeling" about Herculaneum, quite different from Pompeii, where you get the impression that its ancient population of 5,000 packed up and left only moments ago. Herculaneum was smaller than Pompeii but is better preserved simply because, while hot ashes consumed the wood of Pompeii's buildings, Herculaneum was covered by hot mud which sealed and protected entire city blocks. This tour will give you the opportunity to visit the resort town of Taormina, considered one of the most beautiful destinations in Sicily. The excursion will begin with the short journey by minibus to Taormina. Leave your minibus near the center of Taormina, and set out on foot as your guide will lead you along cobblestone streets to the Palazzo Corvaja, a 15th century building adorned with classic double windows. From there it will be a short walk to the amazing and impressive Greco-Roman theatre that is Taormina's iconic landmark . Like the town, the theatre dates back to the 3rd century BC. The Greeks did an incredible job of siting it - its width and acoustic qualities are so inimitable that it is still used for open-air concerts today. The Romans, who came later, did some work on the theatre but even they were unable to vastly improve on the original. Explore the theatre, and make sure you turn around and appreciate the astounding view of Mount Etna looming above the town and the Bay of Naxos below. Once the guided visit is done, spend some free time independently exploring Taormina's main street, Corso Umberto. By bus you will reach the port of Giardini Naxos , board a boat and motor out into the bay. Your destination is the fabled Blue Grotto. Glide slowly into this sea cave to witness the famed blue glow that reflects off the water. Afterwards, snack on fresh almond cookies before heading to the inviting waters off Isla Bella for a refreshing swim. Dry off and enjoy the scenic cruise back to the pier. Take a walk along the Stradun, the glass-like main promenade that runs from the Pile to Ploce gates, following the line of the channel that once divided the town into two parts. Along the way, view some of the landmarks of Dubrovnik. See outside of the Franciscan Monastery with the Old Pharmacy, opened in 1317 and the third oldest in Europe, the Big Onofrio's Fountain that brought water to the town, the once mint and customs office that used to be located in the Sponza Palace, the Church of St Blaise - Dubrovnik's patron saint, the magnificent Rector's Palace and many other edifices created through centuries that made Dubrovnik the UNESCO site it is today. Upon walking along the main promenade continue toward the City Walls. The City Walls were completed in the 13 th century. The ramparts are intact and encircle the old city with a circumference of more than a mile and a half. Ascending the stairway at Pile Gate, you will soon reach the top of the wall where your guide will lead you on a walking tour along the Walls. You will see the gorgeous Minceta Fortress, St. John`s Fortress and Bokar Fortress. Depart Trogir by motor coach to the Stella Croatica Ethno Village , a family run producer of traditional Dalmatian delicacies. Begin with a walk through the orchard and olive grove along a winding stone path through the middle of a garden and further through Aroma Park, rich with aromatic herbs and spices specific to Dalmatia. You will be served a welcome drink of liquor made from cherries while your hostess explains the elements of the stone village there. All products are made by hand and according to old recipes with particular attention paid to the quality and nutritional value. The Old Town of Split is built on and around the spectacular Roman Palace erected by the Roman Emperor Diocletian in the 4th century. Your walking tour starts at the Palace where the Cathedral of St. Duje sits in the center of Split. Other sites include the Golden Gate , the Silver Gate , and the Peristyle Square . Depart Split toward "Pantan" Old Mill to enjoy local specialties (snacks of smoked ham, cheese, and olives) while a group of singers entertains you with local Dalmatian songs . A 15-minute drive will take you to Trogir , situated on a small island connected to the mainland by a bridge. You will visit the Cathedral of St. Lawrence . Leaving the town of Trogir, you will take a 75-minute drive by coach to the famous Krka River Waterfalls . Located in lovely Krka National Park , the falls cascade over 17 natural barriers. Krka is one of the seven National Parks in Croatia and was formed to protect the Krka River. The whole area is rich with endemic species - vegetation as well as birds and fish. This tour will take you to the most attractive part of the park - the Skradinski Buk Waterfalls. The highest waterfall is 151 feet high which makes it the highest gypsum barrier in Europe . Above the falls there is a large plateau that offers spectacular views of the area. Your guided visit to the park will include a small ethnological exhibit and the old mill which is still in use.There is a path around the falls and you will have two hours of free time to explore before your 75-minute drive back to Trogir. Please note : The national park terrain is narrow and rough at times and may not be suitable for those with limited mobility.
