Columbus slept here, Winston Churchill painted here, and Agatha Christie wrote here, but you don’t have to be famous to fall in love with this place. This volcanic archipelago off the coast of Africa can and does charm everyone who visits, although it’s not the same charm for all. Some admire the diversity and drama of the landscapes, a tapestry of smooth and rough, black and green, blue and gold. Others are wooed by quaint colonial towns built a century before Columbus sailed, their cobbled streets lined by dry-stone homes with hand-carved wooden balconies. Sip a glass of sweet and citrusy poncha. Ride wicker toboggans, camels and classic cars. Breathe in air scented with orange, oleander and eucalyptus. And gaze at stars so numerous and bright they seem to put galaxies within reach.

Popular Highlights
See both of the beautiful UNESCO beaches in Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Overnight in Funchal with time to sample the delicious Madeira wines and taste the famous poncha, a delightful local drink of rum and honey.
Get to the heart of Santa Cruz de Palma when you find Plaza de España.
From San Sebastián de la Gomera, find the UNESCO site of Garajonay National Park and wander rare laurel forests.
Wiggle your toes in the black sand beaches of La Palma, then join the local nightlife when you overnight there.
Savor delicious tastings along the Wine Route of Lanzarote.

Here in this privileged setting you'll discover two UNESCO World Heritage Site beaches of tantalizing beauty; San Cristóbal de La Laguna; and the island's symbol, Teide National Park. Wide avenues, exotic landscapes, and striking examples of modernist architecture complete one of the world's most popular destinations.

Though you won't find canaries here you will find people who can whistle like them. Whistled speech helped shepherds communicate across the steep ravines and in the lush cloud forest of Garajonay National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Columbus paused here on all three voyages so you're in good company as you explore historic San Sebastián, but with all the natural beauty around, you'll find your gaze drawn inexorably up the terraced hillsides and across to views of Mount Teide.

La Gomera's capital in every way - economically, bureaucratically and historically - seaside San Sebastián centers on a delightful historic core with shaded plazas, sun-bleached pastel-painted buildings and pedestrian-friendly streets sprinkled with shops, cafes and restaurants. Its main claim to fame is that Christopher Columbus stayed here on his way to the New World, and the explorer's every footstep (real or imagined) in the town has been well documented for visitors. You soon will realize how slow-paced San Sebastián feels, a world away from its neighbor island. In fact, today it is all about following the footsteps of Columbus while admiring the beauty and picturesque center of the town. Also, a short refreshment stop to breathe in the fresh air from land and enjoy local favorite food is included. After this perfect introductory excursion, you will return to the pier. Nature is the star on this small volcanic island. Enjoy the afternoon on the beach or follow the island's famous wine trail, tasting as you go. This, the most northerly of the Canary Islands, welcomes you with laid-back hospitality and genuine warmth. This unique atmosphere has made it a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and one of the most impressive natural parks in all of Spain.
Lanzarote, Panoramic Lanzarote
Lanzarote, Panoramic Lanzarote
Lanzarote is an intriguing island with an utterly extraordinary geology of 300 volcanic cones, eerie blackened lava fields and the occasional bucolic, palm- filled valley. A UNESCO Geopark since 2015, the island is full of variety. There are beautiful beaches (both blonde sand and black rock), fascinating views, glittering natural pools and excellent hiking, cycling, surfing and diving, not to mention a wealth of restaurants and accommodations. This trip will lead you into the south of the island, passing the National Park Timanfaya and the wonderful coast with a beautiful panoramic view from the bus. Meandering southwest between Mzaga and Yaiza, is one of the most interesting and enjoyable drives you can take on the island. Forget any preconceived notions of what wine country should look like. On Lanzarote, you won't find neat rows of vines painting the hills with green stripes. Instead, here, sprinkled across the abstract volcanic landscape, see La Geria and its small crescent-shaped stone walls, behind each of which hides a low-growing vine happily sheltered from the wind. Local vituculturists have found the deep, black lava soil, enriched by Lanzarote's shaky seismic history, is perfect for growing grapes, though the yield is low and the toil is high. On your way back to the pier you will drive by the "Monumento of the Peasant" built by Cesar Manrique to honor the thankless labor that most islanders have endured for generations. Please note : Wear seasonal clothes, comfortable non-slip shoes, bring local currency (EUROS), camera and sunblock, hat, and water to stay hydrated.

The ash helps retain humidity to feed the plants. El Grifo Cellar is the oldest one in the Canary Islands. The origin of the nomination El Grifo is not known, although the familiar tradition associates it with the mythological bird of the same name, half eagle half lion and today symbol of this cellar. There are 40 hectares of vineyard, mainly of malvasía grapes and some vines of moscatel and listán black. You will have a sample here. Then on to Bodegas Rubicon, the most important area of vineyards in Lanzarote. The old winery was built in the 17th century and went through several renovations until the year 2000. Lanzarote, Natural Wonders of Lanzarote *
You will depart from the port of Arrecife, for a 35-minute drive to Mirador de Haria , which looks over the valley of Haria, the village of a thousand palms. Continue to the northern point of the island, and stop at Mirador del Rio , with breathtaking views on the other even smaller islands. The biggest is La Graciosa and the sea arm between Lanzarote and this little island looks like a river. Usually the color of this part of the sea is a different blue than the rest of the sea. You will then head to the Finca Aloe Vera , is a pioneer company in Lanzarote using the traditional cultivation of Aloe Vera. Their aim is to become a reference for quality in their promise to respect the environment based on a sustainable development of the island. You will go through the famous lava landscape in " Malpais de la Corona ," and will visit Jameos del Agua , located inside the volcanic tunnel created by the eruption of La Corona Vulcano. It owes its name to the existence of an internal lake which constitutes a unique geological formation. After this visit, you will make your way back to Arrecife and your waiting ship. Please note : It is recommended that you bring sunglasses, a hat and wear comfortable shoes for this tour.

Discover the amazing world of volcanoes. You will depart from the pier for the 30-minute drive to Los Volcanes Nature Park together with Timanfaya National Park are the protected areas which represent the recent and historical volcanoism of Lanzarote because they are covered by the eruptions that took place in 1730-36 and 1824. On your guided tour with a very informative leader you will be able to discover this fascinating world of volcanoes as you walk across lava flows or ascend to volcanic cones where it's possible to find spectacular craters, lava tunnels, lava lakes, etc. All the volcanic structures are well conserved due to the arid climate of Lanzarote. The evolution of vegetation is very slow therefore the landscape you will find is like a huge open-air museum of volcanology. Also it will be possible to understand the slow but constant rebirth of life upon the lava, and will help you to understand how our planet looked millions of years ago and how its inner forces were at work, at the same time, you will marvel at a landscape of another world. Please note : This tour is not wheelchair accessible. For this route it is essential to wear laced shoes like trainers or hiking boots because we walk over volcanic rocks with a rough surface. Mineral water will be provided, however we recommended bringing fruit or energy bars.
