But Naples is full of archaeological treasures that are among the most impressive in the world, including breathtaking frescoes and sculptures. Its beautiful palaces, castles and churches make Rome look provincial. And the food in Naples is among the best you'll find in Italy, serving decadent pizza, pasta, coffee, and seafood dishes you'll never forget.
Naples, Herculaneum
Naples, Herculaneum
Board your coach for a scenic 45-minute bus ride to Herculaneum, where you will step back in time to explore this ancient city. Founded around the 4th century BC, Herculaneum mirrored Naples in its geometric layout, featuring east-west "decumano" (main streets) and north-south "cardines" (narrower streets). Unlike Pompeii, which feels as if its 5,000 residents departed just moments before the eruption, Herculaneum exudes a distinct atmosphere. Though smaller, Herculaneum is better preserved because, while Pompeii's wood was destroyed by hot ashes, Herculaneum was enveloped by hot mud that shielded its buildings. This has preserved its marble floors, mosaics, paintings, and carbonized wood. Explore its opulent properties, including the House of the Mosaic, the House of Deer, the Thermae (baths), and the House of Carbonized Furniture. After your guided tour, return to meet the yacht. Please Note: We recommend you wear comfortable walking shoes.

Here, the natural ground formations combined with the minerals in the ground and the natural sunlight give life to amazing forms, colors and optical illusions. Upon your return to the main beach, you have free time to enjoy a refreshing dive in the turquoise waters, sunbathe on the soft sand or beach walk, before boarding the coach for the drive uphill to the traditional village of Lakones . You will be driving up the very same serpentine-like, narrow road where the famous car chase in the James Bond movie "For your Eyes only" was filmed. In the village of Lakones, you can admire local village architecture more reminiscent of Italy than of typical Greek villages, before enjoying a "meze " (Greek snack) and tasting wines of the island at the local café at the "Bella Vista," a location known for the spectacular and breathtaking views it commands over Paleokastritsa. Please note : The trip to the caves is subject to sea and weather conditions.
Corfu, Mon Repo Palace & Corfu Town *
Corfu, Mon Repo Palace & Corfu Town *
The tour begins with a scenic drive through the heart of town, leading you into Corfu's lush and verdant countryside, a striking contrast to most Greek islands. As you travel, you'll pass groves of olive, orange, and lemon trees, interspersed with tall, elegant cypress trees. Your first stop is the Mon Repos Palace, perched atop Analipsis Hill near the Kanoni area. Built in 1826 by British Commissioner Frederic Adams as a gift to his Corfiot wife, Nina Palatianou, this charming palace combines colonial architectural elements with a picturesque, green setting. Originally a summer residence for British governors, Mon Repos was later gifted to King George I of Greece when the Ionian Islands were united with Greece in 1864. The palace also holds historical significance as the birthplace of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, on June 10, 1921. During World War II, it served as the residence of the Italian governor of the Ionian Islands. Over the years, ownership of the palace was disputed between the Greek government and the former royal family of Greece. In 2002, the European Court of Human Rights ruled in favor of the former King Constantine, awarding him compensation for the properties lost after the monarchy was abolished in 1975. Today, Mon Repos is a beautifully restored tourist attraction managed by the Municipality of Corfu, welcoming visitors from around the world. Surrounded by a large park, the palace offers a serene environment, and across from it lie the ruins of ancient Corfu, suggesting that Mon Repos may have been built on the site of the island's original city. The tour continues to Kanoni, where you'll see the old cannon that gives the area its name. From this vantage point, you'll enjoy views of the Vlacherna nunnery and Mouse Island in the distance. On the return journey, you'll take a different route back to town, where you can stroll through the narrow, balconied streets of the old district. The tour concludes with a visit to the beautiful church of St. Spiridon before returning to the quayside. Please note : Wear comfortable walking shoes. This tour is not wheelchair accessible.

You'll want to be on deck today as we transit the narrow Corinth Canal with other private yachts and Greek mail steamers. It's a shortcut reserved for petite ships like ours, and as we cruise between the narrow limestone walls we are the envy of all the ancient Romans who once portaged their ships along this very route before there was a canal. Canal transit time and duration is subject to change based on traffic and canal authorities.

For sheer grandeur of natural beauty combined with ancient ruins, there is probably no other spot on earth that rivals Delphi. Visit the ancient Sanctuary of Apollo , where the celebrated oracle Pythia dwelt. Her ambiguous prophecies were known and respected all over the ancient world. Visit the Temple of Apollo , the Sacred Way , the amphitheater , the best preserved stadium of Greece, and the Castalian spring , where in ancient days the pilgrims had to wash before they were allowed to consult the oracle. In the Delphi museum, see such treasures as the Omphalos , which marked the center of the world, and the magnificent bronze Charioteer , one of the finest pieces surviving from the 5th century BC. Please note : As this tour involves walking around the Archaeological Site and in Delphi, comfortable walking shoes are recommended.

As our yacht approaches the spectacular cliffs rising from the deep azure sea, you'll understand the magic of this area, where some say the ruins of Atlantis remain hidden. Visit the village of Oia and see the iconic Santorini blue domes or take a guided tour of Bronze Age excavations at the UNESCO site of Akrotiri. Toast the day with a crisp, cold glass of local Assyrtiko wine and appreciate the magic accessible to small ships like ours.

Santorini, The Ancient City of Akrotiri & Oia
You will be transferred from the ship by local tender boat to Athinios port, where you will join the waiting motor coach. From here you will proceed toward the southern part of the island where you will make a quick photo stop at the ruins of an old windmill that has a panoramic view. You'll re-board the coach and continue on your short narrated journey to the Akrotiri Archaeological Site, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There you'll enjoy a guided tour of the covered excavations of this advanced Bronze Age civilization. You will be taken back in time as these amazing ruins leave you to imagine what life was like before the village was destroyed around 1650 B.C., by the eruption of the volcano. It remains a question why there were no people left in the village at the time of the eruption, as it was abandoned for reasons unknown. It is often said in a whimsical way that perhaps Akrotiri is really the lost city of Atlantis. Next head to Oia with its picturesque, blue-domed churches, old 2-story mansions, and narrow cobblestone streets. It is the perfect place to fully appreciate the beauty of this remarkable island. As you traverse its narrow-cobbled streets you will come across many tiny shops which offer an unusual collection of handmade works of ceramic art, paintings and semi-precious jewelry. Coffee shops perched on the edge of the cliffs offer spectacular views of Fira and the volcano. Once there, your guide directs you to the cliff road from where you may proceed to the cable car at your leisure or drive back to Athinios port to take the local boat back to ship. Please note : This tour involves winding roads and high altitude.

The 15th century Castle of St. Peter, built by the Crusaders, presides over the city's dual harbors. Colorful peacocks strut their stuff trying to claim your attention, but they have nothing on the white sugar cube houses, palm-lined boulevards, and shockingly blue Aegean below. For a picture-perfect seaside playground, Bodrum offers a surprisingly rich history, or maybe it's the other way around. Visit the Mausoleum of Halicarnassus, one of the original Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Surrender to the captivating magic of bathtub-warm waters and the Marina. Shop the bazaar for Milas cloth scarves and silver jewelry. Stroll the marina to see the other private yachts in port. (None as grand as yours, of course.)

This tour begins with a drive to the east coast of Lemnos, where you'll visit the island's most significant archaeological site, Poliochni. Discovered by Italian archaeologists in 1930, Poliochni revealed seven distinct layers of civilization, one built upon the other. It is considered one of the largest urban centers of the Early Bronze Age and is recognized as Europe's first city with a basic social and civic structure. The Neolithic town predates the Egyptian dynasties, the Minoan Kingdom of Crete, and even the earliest levels of Troy. After exploring Poliochni, board your coach and head to the Chatzigeorgiou Estate. Known since antiquity for its high-quality wines, as Aristotle noted, Lemnos continues this tradition through the Chatzigeorgiou family, who have been perfecting the art of winemaking for four generations. During your visit, you will have the chance to sample five different wines, accompanied by local cheese and crackers. The tour concludes with a return to the port.
Limnos, Secrets of Limnos
Limnos, Secrets of Limnos
Embark on a scenic drive southward through Lemnos, arriving at the charming village of Thanos. From here, take a steep path up Mount Kakavos to reach the remarkable chapel of Panagia Kakaviotissa , also known as the roofless church. Nestled in a stunning and almost inaccessible cave atop a hill, surrounded by dramatic rock formations, this chapel offers panoramic views that will leave you in awe. After your visit, the tour continues to the Therma area, where you'll have the opportunity to taste the region's renowned local honey at Melichrysos , followed by a refreshing stop at a nearby café. Your journey will conclude with a return to the port.

Ah, Constantinople, Queen of Cities and the Door to Happiness. Istanbul is the only city in the world built on two continents-Europe and Asia-and its appeal is truly universal. The Romans, Byzantines, and Ottomans all ruled their empires from here, leaving behind some of their finest monuments and a fascinating blend of cultures. Visit the harem at Topkapi Palace, where the clatter of silver soles once warned concubines of the approaching sultan. Admire the Iznik tiles and stained glass windows of the Blue Mosque, and the mystical light bathing the nave of Hagia Sofia. Shop the Grand Bazaar for a coffee cezve, magic lamp, embroidered slippers, or hand-woven kilim. Temper a tiny cup of potent Turkish coffee with bites of sweet lokum (Turkish delight).
